This course will cover the different concepts and factors involved with diagnostic cardiac ultrasound principles and instrumentation. Topics included are sound measurements, sound units, sound properties, different transducers used as well as basic ultrasound physics, artifacts, adjustable physics parameters and display modes. The students will learn the properties of sound waves, transducer beam formation and the various parts of the transducer.
