Students will gain an understanding of the role that family, friends and community play in promoting resiliency and wellbeing for people with developmental disabilities. They will also familiarize themselves with empowerment-oriented philosophies and concepts. Skills will be acquired in case management, aiding in the acquisition and maintenance of supportive social networks and community relationships, discovering suitable social development sites, and advocating at both an individual and systemic level.
