Course Code: ELIC 220
Academic Year: 2020-2021
The basic building blocks of high frequency systems (tuned RF amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, demodulators) are investigated in detail and the blocks combined to form a superheterodyne receiver. The generation of AM and FM transmissions is investigated. Characteristics of broadcast AM and FM are analyzed. The concept of bandwidth, as both a circuit and a system parameter, is introduced. An introduction to antennas is included, and multiplexing is outlined, using FM broadcast stereo as one example of FDM.
