This course is a hands-on, project-based exploration of smart systems and related product design principles. Students will propose and develop prototype a functional smart system that incorporates the core building blocks of such systems found in the real world such as processors, sensors, actuators, peripherals and communication interfaces. Concepts such as feedback control, data acquisition, signal processing and data logging will be introduced. The role of AI/Machine learning in such systems will be explored and learners are given a choice to incorporate AI/ML unctionality.
