In this course, students learn how to effectively work within multi-disciplinary teams with consideration of equity, diversity, and inclusivity and within an Engineering context. They learn what are the most effective characteristics of leaders, regardless of the situation they are in. As we do not often get to choose who we work with, being able to work effectively in a team is a key skill that supports student success in their future career. Through various learning experiences, including projects and cases studies, students apply the concepts of a team contract, the principles behind conducting effective meetings, identify their own strengths and weaknesses working within a team and adjust their approaches to teamwork resulting in the best outcomes for the individual and the team.
