Risk Management in Events

This course is designed for students to examine risk as applied to the events industry using the four stages of risk management: Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation. Using a risk management framework, students will develop a risk management plan and explore crisis response and contingency planning by evaluating risks associated with numerous aspects of the event life cycle. Students will be introduced to the Canadian legal system and relevant legislation such as contract law and negligence to lay the foundation for potential legal risks in the event industry.
