This course challenges the student through analysis of self-assessment to develop concrete and usable supervisor, management, and leadership skills. It will differentiate key management and leadership concepts and explain how these can be applied in a rapidly changing global environment. The course will compare and contrast the traits, behaviours, and attributes of leaders. Building effective working relationships in the Event Management profession is important as the event manager will be collaborating with various stakeholders. One key group are volunteers. Volunteers are an integral part of many large scale events. This course includes the foundations of volunteer management based on best practices and addresses the building blocks which lead to a strong and engaged volunteer team. It teaches strategies for planning, developing, evaluating and leading relationships to engage all stakeholders.
