This course provides students with an introduction to the field of visual merchandising and store planning. Skills acquired in this course enable students to create dynamic retail display presentations. A hands-on approach to in-class assignments provides students with the practical experience of building visual displays which incorporate both mannequins and display props. An understanding of visual merchandising and design principles enables students to develop a creative proposal featuring a fashion retail window presentation, signing program, plan-o-gram and in-store display point visual presentation for a local retailer which can be used for portfolio purposes.
