A significant portion of an individual's financial activity revolves around credit and credit products. Supporting clients to manage their credit needs requires financial planners to have a thorough understanding of credit approval processes and the credit products available. Through case-based learning, students apply the credit approval process to assess applications for approval and to minimize the risks to the lending institution. Students engage in detailed investigation of the various types of consumer credit products, from credit cards to personal loans, credit lines and mortgages. Using extensive consumer credit terminology, students explain the unique characteristics and services of varied types of credit facilities.
