Students will develop an understanding of the financial technology innovations shaping the future of finance. The course will discuss the importance of quantitative and qualitative data in making financial decisions and how that data is captured, stored, and harnessed using various models and tools, including big data analytics, algorithmic trading, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Students will be introduced to computer modelling via rudimentary Python programming skills and applications. Students will learn about blockchain, cryptocurrencies, tokenization, and various other fintech innovations and how they are transforming finance and financial services.
