In this course, students are introduced to concepts of health and wellness. Dimensions and determinants of health and wellness are presented, and students are encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle choices. Through group discussion, self- reflection, research and investigation into community resources, students also develop skills to evaluate and use health information. Topics such as the determinants of health, mental health, gender identity, chronic diseases, substance use and abuse, aging and living in a healthy environment are discussed.
