This course provides a working knowledge of the mathematical skills required for success in the Fitness and Health Promotion program. Mathematical models and calculations are reviewed and the applications of mathematics to fitness and health are introduced using both traditional and technological tools. Calculations introduced in this course are used in future courses to assess components of fitness as well as the physiological and biomechanical demands of specific exercise programs. A review of basic statistics also enhances the students' ability to understand research findings and methodologies.
