This course prepares students for their work-integrated learning courses and future careers by familiarizing students with the employment landscape and opportunities which exist in the fitness and wellness industry, including self-employment. Students examine the job market and learn about the fitness industry through guest speakers, informational interviews and site visits. Topics include job search strategies, resume and cover letter preparation, professionalism, entrepreneurship, time management, interview techniques, legal issues, setting up a company, marketing skills, prospecting plans and selling skills.
