This intensive, primarily functional course, teaches students the core terminology and skills of non-linear digital video editing and still image editing techniques using industry standard software on the Macintosh platform. Students are introduced to the Avid Media Composer video editing system and the tools and techniques of non-linear editing. Video editing workflow will be examined in detail. Tapeless media workflow will be covered. Students are introduced to Adobe Photoshop. Basic image manipulation, text creation and compositing techniques are examined. Students incorporate the use of Blackboard as an additional learning tool.
