The first weeks of the second semester of this course are focused on preparing students for filming the studio dramas that were selected in the previous semester. There is continuing discussion of acting techniques, the audition process, rehearsal techniques and blocking in preparation for working with professional actors on the crew. Students also do scene work, storyboarding, floor plans, and shot lists and discuss visual styles in preparation for more advanced visual storytelling techniques. This course puts a strong emphasis on crew work, and all students are expected to apply themselves fully to the group effort, regardless of the position they are assigned. In the second half of the semester, the course focuses on editing the studio dramas, the work of the director in post-production as well as preparing students for the Capstone projects and public service announcements.
