This course is an overview of the film and television industry in Canada and covers the basics of strategic career management in relation to the industry. Those involved in creative fields sometimes undervalue sound business practice, only to find themselves unable to manage their business affairs or their careers effectively. Whether individuals are managing a small business or a freelance career, this course will help prepare students to enter the competitive world of production by equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the journey from student to industry professional. Opportunities are provided in class for the students to meet with professionals from the film and TV industry.
