Health & Fitness Management for Firefighters 2

Students develop an understanding of the tools and resources available to Fire service employees to enable them to be well and perform to their highest potential. Students take a multi-faceted look at factors affecting employee fitness and wellness including health, nutrition, employee assistance programs, peer support, accommodations and modified work programs, mental health programs and Critical incident stress management procedures. Students gain knowledge of some of the psychological and physical challenges faced by first responders and analyze and evaluate how the resources available assist employees in maintaining their health and wellness.
