In this course, students develop an understanding of the role of Human Resources within an organization. They explore the relationship of the employee and the organization in HR areas including employment law, hiring, promotion, training and development, workplace wellness and safety, discipline, and policy creation. Students broaden their perspective of labour/management relations through the appraisal of the relevance of organized labour in the fire service. Students examine the challenges in HR from a fire service perspective.
