Human Resources & Volunteer Management

Course Code: FUND 5006

Academic Year: 2024-2025

The ability to function in or lead a team is vital to success in the non-profit sector. It can produce results far superior to that which any individual could achieve alone. This course will teach students team theory and give them the opportunity to apply it so they can learn how to manage themselves while working effectively with those reporting to them, including staff, volunteers and suppliers; collaborating with those at the same level, including co-workers and volunteers in their own teams and in parallel; and co-operating with those above them, including supervisors, employers, volunteers (particularly donors, corporate sector members or influential community leaders) and board members (specifically those serving in a non-board capacity as volunteers on a project).
