Sustainability, Social Change and the Creative Imagination

This course actively considers how novels, films, shows and other forms of expression shape our understanding of the world while also reflecting it back to us. Given that creative expression is one of the most influential forces in our society, analysis of creative mediums allows us to participate in important discussions related to how we imagine sustainability now, in the past, and in possible futures. Broadly, the course will explore the relationship between creative texts and social change as well as consider how creative representations of society help us understand perspectives on humanity, sustainability, and the environment.
