With hearing aid technology advancing and increasing reliance on paperless medical systems, students in this course prepare to efficiently troubleshoot any issues that may arise during an appointment and "diagnose" if it is a software, hearing device, or computer issue. Additionally, students learn how to manage the patients' expectations for realistic benefit when no other solution is warranted. Students communicate the necessary "take home" skills for patients to troubleshoot issues independently which increase patient compliance and motivation with their hearing rehabilitation plan.
