Introduction to Global Hospitality and Tourism Management

In this introductory course, students examine many different aspects of the world's largest industry - hospitality and tourism. Students are introduced to this dynamic and growing industry via the sectors of the industry and their interrelationships to determine career and management opportunities. In addition, students examine how these sectors meet the motivations, needs and expectations for the hospitality and tourism guests and hosts. A secondary component of this course is time dedicated to providing students' information and insights into the hospitality management program and the resources and services available for successful completion of the program. Students participate in an informative interactive lecture format learning through active involvement using electronic devices. Industry guest speakers discuss industrys expectations of attitude, skills and competencies for a successful career.
