In this course, a study of the basic principles of refrigeration and air conditioning and their application to the residential and small commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems is provided. The course introduces the basic components of such systems, including refrigerants, lubricants, evaporators, condensers, compressors and various refrigeration accessories. These topics will be studied in more detail in HRAC 150 Refrigeration 2.
