Accounting systems are the universal language for businesses worldwide. This course covers the complete accounting cycle, from the recording of transactions in journals, through to the preparation of financial statements used by hospitality and tourism businesses globally. Students develop a managerial perspective while learning how to record and summarize transactions into financial statements used by organizations to manage operations. Cost management, financial statement analysis, and budgeting for different tourism and hospitality operations are examined. Students will create an operating budget for hospitality/tourism business.
