This course introduces students to the subjects of line, shape, colour, and composition within the context of industrial design. The course uses examples from art, architecture, nature, and the greater built environment to communicate how manipulating two-dimensional factors can provide solutions to formal design challenges. Students use hands-on exercises to explore and evaluate the fundamental principles of the two-dimensional world.
