This course further explores the materials and components addressed in previous detailing classes, with a focus on commercial construction systems, such as post and beam, concrete and steel. Site visits to produce forensic studies of these construction typologies will be conducted. Construction details, schedules and specifications for ceiling and millwork assemblies developed in the INTD 3000 studio project will be documented. Hands-on lab projects will explore materiality and its connection/impact on design and construction systems.
