This course continues the study of object-oriented programming concepts begun in Java Programming 1 and also introduces many of the most important library classes that form part of the Java language. Students will make use of the these concepts to write Java applications that use object-oriented principles to perform tasks such as generating graphical user interfaces, handling exceptions, reading from and writing to files and communicating with other computers over a network. Using technologies such as Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), students will gain experience in developing applications with the Java programming language that make use of the Oracle database.
