This is an introductory course covering joinery, design fundamentals and a brief history of furniture design as it relates to product engineering, materials and construction. Various types of wood joints will be studied, and students will be introduced to the process of design from idea generation to finished product. Also included are clamps and clamping fixtures, templates, jig design and construction.
