Quick synthesis of large amounts of information and critical thinking skills are central to the undertaking here, and students will workon developing a confident sense of what the story at hand is about and the optimal way to tell it. Team and individual production of such in-depth news stories also requires refining skills in discerning valuable sources, conducting interviews at higher levels of complexity and anticipating the directions in which stories will continue to develop.
