This course introduces students to journalism and grounds them in the principles, ethos and practices that define the field. Over the course of the semester, students will explore the past, present and future of the field through the examination of six questions: What is journalism?; Why is journalism important?; How do journalists do their job?; When has journalism shone?; Who is a journalist?; Where is journalism threatened?
