Course Code: JRNL 326
Academic Year: 2022-2023
This is a very practical course that will prepare students for applying for internships or their first jobs. It will focus on writing strong resumes and cover letters, preparing for job interviews, and creating portfolios and demo reels. Students will meet as a large group for some sessions, but will do the bulk of the work individually and then meet one-on-one with the professor. The class will also include guest speakers who will help students acquire some entrepreneurial expertise. The course will wrap up with a panel of recent graduates who will pass on important information that they learned as they transitioned from school to the workplace. As the profession of journalism is deadline-driven, course deadlines must be met.
