This course will deal with the general principles and concepts which relate to a real estate transaction and which are essential for the practitioner to know. Various aspects of a typical residential real-estate transaction, starting with the Agreement of Purchase and Sale and ending with the closing in the Registry Office, will then be discussed. Students will understand the place of the mortgage in real estate transactions and the remedies of the mortgagee in the event of default. New condominium purchases and condominium resales will be covered in this course. Land use controls, including severances, will also be explained.
