Course Code: MCSC 6001
Academic Year: 2026-2027
This course explores advanced network security through hands-on labs, real-world scenarios, and practical applications. Students will design and secure network infrastructures, focusing on intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation. Emphasis is placed on advanced techniques for threat detection, real-time threat intelligence, and mitigating sophisticated cyberattacks. Students will tackle the challenges of evolving threats, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and engage in ethical hacking to better understand the attack surface. In the culminating project, they will simulate cyberattacks, defend networks using advanced security strategies, and develop critical skills for securing and monitoring complex network environments.
