This course is a series of weekly workshops that provide students with the skills, tools and knowledge necessary to secure and complete their work placement. This includes career planning, job search techniques, discussion of workplace issues (safety/legal/ethical), professionalism and self-management. Students prepare cover letters and resumes, research potential employers, and practice interview skills in mock and informational interviews. Guest speakers will provide students with a range of perspectives on current and future trends in the industry, as well as provide mentorship.In addition, students review the work placement process and requirements with their Placement Advisor.
