This course focuses on the major vascular systems assessed by sonographers. The anatomy and pathology of arteries and veins in the upper and lower limbs, neck, and abdomen are highlighted. The course also explores hemodynamics and the use of ultrasound equipment to assess vascular structures and detect abnormalities. The lab component of this course focuses on vascular anatomy and techniques for optimizing vascular studies. Ultrasound assessments of the carotid arteries, as well as the venous systems of the upper and lower extremities are practiced.
