Students strengthen their knowledge of manufacturing technologies as they work on the design of parts for the key manufacturing techniques such as: Machining, Casting/Injection Molding, Welding, and Sheet Metal. SolidWorks manufacturing modules (casting, welding, and sheet-metal) is introduced on generic examples. Students create individually sized SolidWorks models of the parts for the four manufacturing techniques. Students create drawings of the parts (functional and process) according to ANSI inch and metric specifications. In addition, students acquire knowledge of GD&T.
