Students engage in a project based course in Industrial Design from the perspective of the mechanical designer in satisfying both form and function in communicating design intent. Students examine Industrial Design from historical and contemporary styles and principles. Students learn product development from conceptual design, using freehand drawing techniques, to CAD models utilizing SolidWorks. As a final outcome, students develop a design solution that integrates ergonomics, aesthetics, feasibility of both design and manufacturing ultimately satisfying the human dimension.
