Tool and Die Design

Academic Year: 2024-2025

The students learn the fundamental concepts of tool and die design with respect to drilling, milling, holding and assembly fixtures and press working dies (Blank & Pierce). Using a CAD environment, the student will develop a working design for an assigned part and produce fully annotated and dimensioned general assembly & detail drawings. The students will perform necessary calculations and stress analysis on the tool and die and make amendments to avoid failure.
