Tool and Die Design

Course Code: MECH 251

Academic Year: 2020-2021

Students apply basic principles and processes of forming sheet metal using die tooling and machinery. Students use design criteria for the development of sheet metal parts to be formed by a die. Students work on a large tooling project where they design a Progressive Die to pierce, trim, bend and form a sheet metal part using custom and industry components. Students detail the progressive die to include the scrap strip layout, die assembly and custom die components
