This course introduces stylistic differences and developments in music. It introduces learners to the role of individual instruments within each style and explores originators of styles, forms, solo transcription, phrasing, and guided listening. Students learn how to extract information from a recording. The recordings selected support the material being covered in Song Materials I and Elements of Improvisation I.
