Success in the increasingly competitive landscape faced by organizations today demands the formulation and implementation of effective strategies. In this course, students will develop the ability to discuss and apply strategic management concepts and tools to various Canadian and international organizations in a variety of contexts. They will have the opportunity to examine management issues as presented in the many case studies included to provide a rich set of learning experiences. Topics include strategic positioning, strategic choice and strategy in action. The course will also examine the role of leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship and the dynamics of change as a means of responding to the fluid environments in which organizations function.
