This course covers advanced topics and techniques within histology with an emphasis on special staining techniques. Students will gain practical skills in performing stains for carbohydrates, lipids, connective tissues, pigments, fungus, minerals and microorganisms. Theory behind immunohistochemistry will also be explored.
