Production skills are essential for professional musicians in an industry with ever-evolving distribution, technological and cultural trends. Students will employ a variety of digital audio hardware and software tools to demonstrate creative production processes and techniques including multitrack editing, mixing and recording. Through critical listening, analysis and discussion, learners will grow strong communication skills and language for expressing production-related ideas and expectations. An exploration of the stages of music production and basic sound theory provides students with a foundation for achieving strong creative and technical outcomes with recorded music.
