This course is a series of weekly workshops that prepare students for their work placement. This includes career planning, job seeking techniques, discussion of industry related issues, professionalism and self-management. Students prepare cover letters and resumes, create a database of potential employers/opportunities, and practice their communication skills by participating in mock interviews, and by conducting informational interviews with professionals in their field. Guest speakers from the industry will provide students with a range of perspectives on current and future trends, as well as answer questions and provide mentorship. In addition, students review the work placement process and requirements.
