Directed Study 2: Recording Project

Course Code: MUS 4005

Academic Year: 2024-2025

The Directed Study Recording Project is an independent capstone course aimed at providing students with the opportunity to record and produce an EP (3-4 songs). Each student is supported by a team comprised of a faculty advisor, a student producer, and staff engineers. Through a series of studio sessions, regular meetings, written reflections and independent work, students will engage with the music production process to realize their artistic vision and to showcase their unique musical abilities and creative skillsets. In the role of producer, students will assist a student artist with organizational, musical, and production tasks to help facilitate the artist's goals. The resulting recording project and reflection on the process will be reviewed by a faculty panel.
