Music Enterprise places the students in their own "record company", where each student selects from a slate of three local artists, an artist they will work with, and for, throughout the term. The goal is to create as much awareness for their artist as possible. This is not a simulation; students will have original, high-quality music content, vetted by the faculty, supported by a budget provided by the Music Business program. Along with their colleagues, this in-class "record company" will craft a viable marketing and promotional plan and execute that plan. All knowledge gained in the classroom will be applied to this real-life project, monitored by the faculty in regularly scheduled "marketing meetings".
