The industrial processes are transforming as the internetwork protocols and connectivity are revolutionizing the business processes. The business and management processes were considered to be isolated from the industrial and manufacturing processes. This course introduces the network services that integrate the industrial networks and the enterprise business applications. In this course wired and wireless applications and protocols are introduced that help in connecting different devices on the industrial shop floor with the control systems that increases the productivity and quality at the production levels. This includes learning the skills to select appropriate cables, fibre and network tools and devices used in the industrial set up. The topics covered in the course include configuration of network devices to provide security, manageability that creates intelligent industrial network.
