This course focuses on promoting the health of childbearing families, encompassing the childbearing experience. It will increase awareness of health promotion with families during the childbearing years and child rearing years and explore the meaning of health from the family's perspective. It will also develop, at a beginning level, the theoretical basis for assessment, intervention and support of families during the childbearing years. (This course is restricted to students enrolled in the RPN to BN program.)
