Mathematical concepts are frequently used in food service and nutrition and are fundamental to the program and the profession. Problem-solving and numeracy skills are used in this course to solve case based scenarios encountered in the food service and nutrition industry, such as recipe modification, nutritional requirements, and labour schedules. These skills are also applied through the use of Microsoft Excel to further prepare students for a profession in the food service and nutrition industries.
