This course explores how to encourage people to make sustainable nutrition and health changes. Students examine current methods in counseling and communication that facilitate positive behaviour change. The nutrition care process is a fundamental component of the course, focusing on the steps involved in the screening, assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of clients. Throughout the course, students discuss emotional intelligence, active listening, and verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Students also identify various factors which influence behaviour change and identify strategies to help clients make a healthy behaviour change.
